 DeMone Monuments &
Granite Products Ltd. is one of the largest monument manufacturing
companies in Nova Scotia. The company combines modern technology
with time proven craftsmanship to create memorials. It is at the
manufacturing plant in Lunenburg where the granite is cut, designed,
lettered and then sandblasted. Memorials are produced start to finish
by the hands of local skilled craftspeople. Both the granite
and workmanship of each memorial crafted by DeMone Monuments are
fully guaranteed.
In
addition to the plant and head office in Lunenburg, DeMone Monuments has
offices in Bridgewater and Bedford and there are also
representatives throughout Nova Scotia. Although DeMone
Monuments supply other granite products such as benches, garden
features, steps, fireplace hearths, table tops and signs….memorials
still represent the largest section of the business.
DeMone
Monuments is owned by Paul Himmelman and his wife Karen Logan.
Cyril
DeMone started the company in 1964, in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
In 1967, his son Greg joined the company full time. In 1977,
Greg took over the family business.
In
1984, DeMone Monuments purchased Dauphinee Memorial Art in
Shelburne, NS. This company had been involved in the granite
industry since 1908. With the merge of these two companies,
DeMone
Monuments can claim over 100 years of memorial manufacturing
experience. It was in 2001, that Paul and Karen purchased the
company and continued with the DeMone family name.
